Freedom from Religion Foundation Display
The Freedom From Religion Foundation acquired a permit to place its Bill of Rights "nativity" display on the lawn of the Franklin County Courthouse. The FFRF asked the Tri-State Freethinkers to be on site to put up the display in Franklin County. We were there on Sunday November 29. Learn more about this event.

Fighting Bible Distribution in Public Schools
In 2014 we first began confronting the Gideons when we discovered they were systematically passing out bibles to students at public schools in Kentucky. You may have seen one of their books the last time you stayed in a hotel. Our events received great media coverage, and were the subject of a topic at the recent Kentucky Freethought Convention.
Recently, the City of Cincinnati decided to create a new curfew program to give children out after 10:30pm a safe place to be picked up by parents and lower the rate of violent crime in the area. Initially, two of the drop off centers were churches. Articles stated that children would receive counseling from pastors and officers while they waited. Thanks to emails from TSF and supporters, the Police Department will now be using local recreation centers instead of churches. Article here.
In collaboration with students at the University of Cincinnati, TSF has helped the City of Cincinnati do more to prevent discrimination against women. CEDAW is a UN convention adopted in 1979 to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women all over the world. From their website:
Currently we have a resolution passed by Cincinnati City Council and now move forward to form a coalition to make real progress in the city.
